The Full Story

After nearly a decade of anticipation, Amanvari finally brings Aman's philosophy of elemental luxury to Mexico's Baja California peninsula. The name — from Sanskrit for 'peace' and 'water' — signals the intention: a resort conceived as a meditation on the meeting point of desert, mountain, and sea.

Set on the East Cape within the 1,500-acre Costa Palmas estate, Amanvari occupies a remote stretch where the Sierra de la Laguna mountains descend toward the Sea of Cortés. Jacques Cousteau called it 'the world's aquarium,' and guests will have front-row access to one of the planet's richest marine

The 18 freestanding Casitas are bilevel structures elevated on stilts. Upper floors house bedrooms, living spaces, and wrap-around decks — some with cantilevered private pools suspended above the terrain. Ground-level areas with hammocks and fire pits dissolve into surrounding dunes and estuaries.

Dining reflects Baja's unique identity: Sesui (Japanese), Arva (Italian), the Beach Club (open-fire coastal cooking), and The Lounge.
